Braun series 5 shaver
2I was really looking forward to receiving and testing this item. The first positive thing I noticed on the box was "made in Germany" which is usually a sign of good quality and workmanship. The razor itself is solidly built, has a very good shape, quality material and fits very well in the hand. It's waterproof, amusingly it can even go 5 meters deep in the water, although I haven't yet tried shaving whilst diving. I left it to charge, which took place in under an hour. I then decided to actually test it on my face I turned it on, it's very loud noise wise, and the vibrations are pretty harsh, I'm not sure I'd use it everyday with that kind of vibrations, not sure if this is a manufacturing defect or if it's normal, but my cheaper different brand razor doesn't vibrate so much or make so much noise. So overall, dissapointed but I'm sure the issues I've raised can be addressed and corrected by Braun.

Braun Series 5
5It does exactly what you would expect of a top Braun shaver, very comfortable shave as the foil moves around as well as the head can pivot. The foil glides on your skin and super sharp cutter gets the hair easily, so your skin is left really smooth without the need to go back and forth too much. Can easily deal with longer hairs too. Nice that you don't have to worry if it gets wet and you can wash it to clean it also. Has LED display to give the charge level

Great shave without irritation
5Having used electric shavers for about 20 years now I felt happy with my current "rotary" one which is about five years old. At the time I bought that one, I tried rotary and foil shavers and found the rotary one worked best with my beard. Having now tried out the Braun Series 5 5140s, I can say that foil shaver technology has definitely moved on as it gives me a great shave without any irritation. The shaver came with a charging cable, cleaning brush and protection cap. There's no travel pouch included and the power button is somewhat easy to knock so it is definitely something I'll need to buy before travelling with the shaver. The charging cable is the standard 2-pin shaving plug which needs an adapter to fit UK sockets. No shaver I've ever bought comes with one and I have a couple knocking round but if this is your first electric shaver then be sure to order one at the same time. It would be nice for manufacturers to include one in the box though. Everything on the shaver feels well made from the rubberised grip to the mechanism to pop-up the in-build sideburn trimmer and nothing feels like it'll fall apart. It's also great to know that the shaver is fully waterproof. They say you can use it in the shower but I'm not sure who would actually shave in the shower - I like to have a mirror to see what I'm doing and it would just steam up! Still, it's nice to know I won't break it with my wet hands and I can just give it a rinse if I need to. Braun state on their instruction manual that you need to replace the cassette (foil and cutter block) every 18 months to keep it working at it's best. Looking around, these are about £40 which doesn't seem bad to keep the shaver going another 18 months. All told, I really like the shaver and am sure it'll serve me well for a long time to come.

Braun Series 5 Shaver
5The shaver charged very quickly, It was a good weight and very well balanced. I found it very smooth with no pulling on my skin. I was able to get a very smooth shave without having to go over more than once. After use the cleaning was easy. All in all I am very happy with the shaver and would recommend to anyone.

Electric razor
5Got my razor today , the box was great looking lots of info on it about the product and its features. Opened the box great looking product sleek and very comfortable in the hand. Read through the instructions very clear and pictures as well . Just charging now looking forward to using it now.

Brilliant piece of kit!!
5Having used electric shavers for many years I wasn’t expecting much difference from the other. I have to say this is fantastic! Totally waterproof and can be used with saving gel in shower! Easy to clean foil and fast charging. Highly recommended!!!!
