high quality
5First impression of Braun S3 Shave & Style 3010BT Wet & dry is very good, look like very expensive product. High end design - blue inlay on the traditional black exterior give the Braun a little bit cool/funky look. It is lightweight and quiet, comes with more than five attachments, depending on how you want to count them ( trimming between 1-7mm). It provides a close shave either wet or dry, and the beard trimmer makes grooming easy with five comb attachments of different lengths. The beard trimmer attachment works great for touching up sideburns. It also features comb attachments, which easily slide onto and off of the trimmer head, allowing a variety of length options. Braun S3 Shave & Style 3010BT Wet & dry is great gadget. It is a very good shaver with a five-minute quick charge feature. The unit feels durable, performs wonderfully, and is feels comfortable in the hand whilst shaving. I have to admit fantastic product. I highly recommend this shaver not only to men who like to keep their beards looking sharp, but to the close shave crowd who loves an electric.

Good but not great
3I've been using the beard trimming accessories and percission head for a couple of weeks now and I've had mixed results. The percission trimmer is great for tidying up around the edges of my beard but I've found that when using the trimmer it has been missing quite a few hairs leaving small patches longer than others. And also the longest attachment (number 7) is also quite short. The razor itself charges quickly and has a reasonable battery life. I have noticed that it is quite loud compared to other electric trimmers that I've used. the trimming attachment is easy to keep clean and the pouch is useful for keeping everything together.

Nifty little razor and trimmer
5I've used a fair few electric razors and find my skin loves me for it as well. I left my beard for a couple of days before trying out the new Braun Series 3 ProSkin razor. I often find that going straight in with the shaver head leads to snagging hairs which lets be fair hurt! What I liked about the Series 3 was the interchangeable head and trimmer combs. Using the shortest no.1 comb I was able to trim down the beard relatively close to the skin and then swap the head over to the shaver head. The final shave was close, smooth and lasted for the whole day. The weight I think will make it handy for holidays or trips away with work and the battery is pretty good as well. The precision trimmer is effective for side burns or picking off those annoying hairs that seem to grow in all directions and refuse to go quietly. It's easy to clean and maintain although I was surprised that with didn't come with the oil needed to lubricate the heads after a wet shave. Not to worry I have some from an old product knocking around somewhere. Overall I found the shave to be close, smooth and irritation free with for me is a must. This lightweight, Braun Series 3 ProSkin razor has certainly ticked all the boxes.

Disappointing shave overall
2I've used quite a few electric shavers in the past, some quite cheap and some more expensive. I have to say this was the most disappointing shave of them all, both in trying to get a clean shave and beard trimming. Opening the box up you get some great stuff along with the shaver. The shaver has a good firm grip on it and the attachments are easy to swap in and out. The first time I used it I thought I would give it a go with the normal shaver head to get a clean shave. The result was what felt like a 1 or 2 day old shave. I just couldn't get it to give a clean enough shave. I tried wet and dry with no success. After that I thought I should give it a go with the beard trimming accessories. I let my beard grow out for a few days and gave it a go with the shortest hair trimmer. I was expecting to see some difference as my facial hair was looking quite long and unkept. As I ran it over my face you could hear it trimming the hairs but after a few attempts you could barely tell any difference. In the end I got frustrated and shaved it short again... then I shaved it again with my old razor. Don't think I'll continue using this and definitely wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

A top notch, versatile, shaver
4I've tried many different shavers in the past, but with the removable blades that come with this, it makes it versatile and excellent at the job it is intended for! Several years ago I used to be a wet shaver through and through, but then the woman in my life told me she preferred a bit of stubble, so from that day on, I stopped wet shaving and went to an electric beard trimmer, and I've been through several in the last few years. Therefore I feel I can put forward a decent argument on whether a versatile shaver like this one is good at what its intended to be. I have only tried 4 'lengths' of this shaver so far: the shaver head the precision trimmer with the 1mm, 5mm covers and no cover at all. Shaver head: This is what I compare to a wet shave, as it's intended to be the closest shave this shaver can offer. I was actually quite impressed at how good a close shave this shaver gives, but it did find it was tugging a little bit at some of the hair as I moved it round, making it a little uncomfortable. I have actually found this with most electrical shavers and this was no different, but also it was certainly no worse. Overall though I found I never had to go over areas more than once and the shave it gave was pretty decent - in fact, better than other shavers that cost 2 or 3 times as much in my opinion. Next (a week or so later) I moved onto the precision trimmer with the 5mm, 1mm and no cover. This, in my opinion, is where the shaver excelled. With all of the lengths (5mm,1mm and no cover) the shave was even and super quick. It was as efficient as it gets, and no tugging at all in any of the modes. Of course, with no cover on it is a little bit coarser on your skin as you are working with the blades directly, but it still did an outstanding job and is the core reason I hold this as the best electric shaver I have used to date. Not much to say about cleaning other than it was very quick and easy (took a couple of seconds) and as its a wet and dry one it can be run under the tap or just use the supplied comb if necessary. The other thing worth mentioning about this shaver is that it is quite loud. Probably louder than any electric shaver I have used before, but not by a significant margin. It wouldn't put me off using it. Overall, an excellent shaver, that I'm not sure is bettered elsewhere for performance. Only reason for not giving top marks to this is due to a little discomfort when using the shaver head and the louder than average sound it makes

Good shaver for short beards
4This is a very good shaver for close shaves. I grew my beard out to see how well this trims thicker hair, and I was very impressed. It cuts through wiry hair like mine really well, and there was no tugging or pulling of the hairs. Shaping of the beard was easily done with the beard attachment, and it was very quick to change over the parts. Close shaving on the neck was easily done, but did take some time. The adjustable elements on the close-shave attachment help go around the contours of your face well. However, it did not deal so well with the few errant long hairs missed by the beard attachment so I had to repeatedly go over areas to get a complete shave. This caused the close-shave attachment to get quite warm, and also caused some skin irritation. The beard attachments go up to 7mm. This is significantly shorter than I normally have my beard, so I would have preferred a few more attachments in greater length. I was able to use the 7mm to trim all remaining beard hair very quickly and easily, so the blades are clearly sharp and good quality. Cleaning the trimmer was easily done with the little brush supplied, and storage was made easy as the beard attachments came with a little storage bag. There is no UK plug adapter included in this set, which could catch some people out - I had to order a new one as I couldn't find my old one!

Well worth the money
5This shaver really does what it should .I've used a separate razor and beard trimmer for a while now, but since using the Braun I won't bother with them again. The Braun not only does both jobs by itself but is far better hands down. With the different heads and wet or dry choices it gives brilliant results even with the tough beard that i have. I would recommend it to anyone who takes a pride in their appearance.

Mr A Allen
4Best shaver I have owned! The build quality is very good, and the device feels robust. It's the first time I have a waterproof shaver, and it's going to make proper cleaning so much easier. If using for wet shaves, or cleaning the head under running water frequently (as opposed to using the provided brush for "dry" cleaning), Braun recommends to put some oil on the foils once a week (oil not provided), else water will make the mechanism too dry. I believe this is good advice as I had the same experience with clippers, but would have been nice to have some oil provided. The shaver heads should and according to Braun, should last around 18 months and cost about £20 to replace. Saying this, given the quality and robustness of the Braun S3, In my opinion is reasonable and I'm very happy with it!
