A Worthy Bit Of Kit

3

Having only had this for a week I've not had a lot of opportunity to use the product, so realistically I want to start with my first impressions. Straight out of the box and this is a nice looking shaver, it's clean and modern, it comes with a decent selection of heads and combs which should give it a good level of versatility. Picking up the shaver for the first time it feels nice in the hand, there's a reasuring weight and sturdiness to the product that really gives it a feeling of quality. Normally I prefer the closeness of a wet shave but using this for the first time really surprised me, for an electric shaver this really does provide a really nice close shave. The fact that this can be used both wet and dry makes it really handy to just leave in the bathroom and pick it whenever it feels like I need a top up. Overall a fairly impressive bit of kit that performs very well. Whilst not quite as close as a wet shave the ease of use, versatility and just general usefulness of this product make it a worthy addition to anyone's bathroom routine.

Braun s3 shave and style

What an amazing shaver...Braun are known the world over for producing the best shave for a man and they have gone one better and added a beard trimmer to the S3 I found this shaver so easy to use straight out of the box..it is even small enough for me to bring to work in my wash bag if I am running late and with it containing a smart plug with adjustable voltage it means I can bring it abroad and adjust the polarity..I found that the beard trimmer comb attachments easy to attach and it left my beard well trimmed and it also allowed me to trim my hair around my ears so it gelled with my beard overall I am very impressed with the S3.My work colleagues were also impressed with this shaver and how easy to use it was.compared to the s7 which is a more expensive shaver in the series the S3 compared we'll my personal experience would always go for the S3 for its ease of use and size

I am not a hairy man...

...but what hair I do have has the tendency do be rather unruly. As such, my general "man-scaping" routine varies somewhere between awkward wet shaves, haphazard pluckings, and my personal favourite; leave it until someone complains. So you can imagine my hesitance when opting to use such a professional looking multifeatured piece of grooming kit as the Braun Shave&Style. I have always thought that these electric shavers were the reserve of the real manly men, who I imagine are forced daily to use every bit of available technology to ardously reclaim their cheeks from the constant advances of their lumberjack-esque super-beards. Upon selecting the appropriate attachment I was pleasantly surprised to find how easy it was to get going, and before I knew it, my face was in the most presentable state is seen it in for a while. A mere matter of minutes was all it took to get myself looking clean and sharp, which usually would be good thing, although on this occasion I was left dissapointed, mainly because by this point I was enjoying my new toy, and really wanted to see what it could do. So I took it to the shower. Waterproof? Check. Easy to hold, even when wet? Affirmative. Does it cut through hair like a hot knife through butter? Not the best metaphor but yeah it does! And it's just so easy to use, I even recruited my girlfriend to get at the places I can reach, and for her to use it on me without a visit to A+E after is a testament to good design. I really couldn't find fault with it. An adapter for charging wouldn't hurt, but you can pick one up for next to nothing. Overall I have to say that I'm impressed. I've gone from thinking that if never need an electric razor, to wondering why I bothered so long without one. If you're a regular groomer who doesn't have a lot of time to spare, the Braun does everything you'd need and more. If like me (untill recently!) you think the Braun would me surplus to requirements, I urge you to give it a go. If you have more hair than you want, whether it be one or two, or a whole rugs worth, the Braun S3 might be a real game changer for you, but at the very least will shave a few minutes off your morning routine.

Awesome shave

Just tried the new Braun Series 3 ProSkin razor and it is the best shave I've had for a long while. I normally use a manual razor but decided to try this razor after it was sent to me. The precision trimmer and 5 trimmer combs make it easy for you to get a really close shave without any irritation what so ever. Had a awesome close shave without any bumping or scratching the skin. The cleaning brush makes it super easy to clean within a few seconds after a shave. Making a tiresome clean super easy. Would definitely remommded to anyone.

Best razor I have ever used

5

The Braun Series 3 shaver/razor is the ideal 3-in-1 grooming tool. The razor comes with a little bag to keep the 5 trimmer combs and cleaning brush together, the razor its self is a good size and looks applealing. I shave my beard once a week but this fantastic new razor has made it much more of an enjoyable task! I mostly use an electric razor (I have never used one in the shower before) I used it with foam and it was smooth and glided nicely. It's very comfortable to use and I thought the rubber sides are a nice touch for a good grip in the shower. I have also used this razor out of the shower which was also amazing and this is the best razor I have ever used. I did prefer using it in the shower though as it was extremely smooth and comfortable without leaving any irritation what so ever. The five trimmer combs makes it easy to have a close shave or leave a slight bit of stubble. The cleaning comb also came in handy as it made it so easy to clean the razor in just a few seconds. I would recommend this razor to anyone who uses a manual OR an electric razor as it is so versatile I believe it is something everyone would enjoy using. I will denitley reccomend this product to my friends and brothers.

Well made shaver. Not great performance

I tend to shave once every 10 days using a traditional wet shave method, rather than electric shaver as I have never really had satisfactory results from them. So I was intrigued to know how the Braun would handle a 10 day thick beard. The shaver arrived with the following: Braun Series 3 ProSkin razor Exchangeable shaver head Exchangeable precision trimmer 5 trimmer combs Soft bag for combs Protective cap Cleaning brush Smart plug for automatic 100-240 voltage adjustment The actual shaver is well made, feels decent quality and comes with a lot of different shave heads/combs. After a fairy quick charge I began with the beard trimmer. The various combs worked well and were easy to fit, allowing for a reasonably successful tidying of the beard. As I worked through the comb heads, I could see a difference in the amount being trimmed. Unfortunately, towards the end it got a bit too close and ended up with a patchy effect, meaning that It was time for a 'clean' shave! After a very simple switch of the shave head I began trying for a clean shave. It was much less painful than previous electric shavers that I have tested and the waterproof nature meant that it stayed clean. Unfortunately it just doesn't get close to a proper wet shave. After shaving with it I was left with a stubbly feel (like 1-2 days after a wet shave). In summary, it's a well made bit of kit and will do a good job of thinning/trimming a beard but will not do a great job in replacing a traditional wet shave for a clean feel.

Braun Series 3 Shave&Style 3010BT

This is absolutely fantastic shaver, I was very impressed by it. It is very comfortable to use, I love the rubber sides for a better grip in the shower. I have always struggled to find something to shave with as I've got sensitive skin, razors caused rash on my skin and other cheap shaver that I've tried has basically shredded my skin. This shaver is definitely worth to be tried, and I already have recommended it to my friends.

Great solid razor

4

This is a great razor straight out of the box. it shave well and close and can even be used in the shower as a wet razor! on to the beard trimming the trimmer only goes to a 7 where as I'm more a 10 so going to be short for some people. Doing tricky detail was difficult. All in all a great razor if you want full clean shave or a beard trimmed to 7 or lower with not to much detail.

Not bad at all

This is probably around the fourth or fifth electric shaver I’ve used, I tend to favour them over wet shaving purely from a practicality point of view. Generally sporting a bit of a beard over the last few years, my shaving preferences switched from rotary head ones for a closer shave, to a clipper style to allow some growth. Unfortunately my previous shaver only consisted of a clipper head with an adjustable length comb, great for the beard but not so great for a cleaner shave around its perimeter. So, with a clipper head, adjustable combs, AND a foil head, the Braun S3 seemed an ideal solution. On opening the box, you are greeted with a surprisingly beefy instruction manual to immediately throw away or repurpose as a door stop, the shaver, complete with foil head and plastic travel cover installed, a pack of various sized combs, the clipper head itself, a dinky little cleaning brush, and a very manly drawstring bag to store the spare comb heads in. All of these come individually wrapped in cellophane bags, held very securely in a polystyrene tray. The shaver itself is very solid, pleasingly weighty, and has a distinct premium feel to it. It just fits well in the hand, with a slightly rubberised grip. Although perhaps that is mainly because my previous shaver cost all of £9… but still the build quality can’t be ignored. It feels like the kind of thing you could punt across the room unharmed. Not that I endorse that kind of thing. The foil and clipper heads are very easy to swap and simply pull off with the aid of tabs on both sides for grip, and the interchangeable combs slide nicely on and are held very securely. My one issue with the interchangeable head situation is that the plastic travel cover, which also serves as a guard to prevent accidental powering up of the unit and shaving of your best jumper inside your suitcase, only fits over the foil head, not the clipper. This means that for general storage and transit, the foil head has to be attached to the unit. This is not a massive issue but if you tend to favour the clipper, it could be a bit of a pain to swap them around on every use. It also would have been nice if the whole unit fitted inside the material bag which holds the accessories, purely as it means you’re carrying around 2 separate things, and I guess if you’re the forgetful type it could be quite easy to leave the bag next to the hotel sink having just packed the shaver away. So, performance! I’ve been using the S3 for around a fortnight now, shaving on average every 2 days. Beginning with the clippers, I’ve tried a couple of the combs and each gives a good even length, while the clipper itself cuts very sharp and clean. Using the head with no comb allows a neat border to be cut into the growth, giving almost as close a shave as the foil head. Switching to the foil head though, the area around the beard can be tidied up, and any remaining hairs are cut almost to skin level. The head is pivoted on the x and y axis, and even has a sort of z axis suspension system so it moulds to the contours of your jawline and neck like a Sherman tank. In terms of battery life, supposedly a full charge gives 45mins of use, but I can’t really comment on that as I haven’t used it nearly enough. It does seem to charge quite quickly though. Overall, this is easily the best shaver I’ve used, despite the admittedly minimal faffing it takes to swap the heads. It does exactly what you’d expect, and does it exceptionally well. I can’t see anyone being disappointed. Oh and it’s completely waterproof so you can also use it to shave your gentleman’s unmentionables. Solid 8/10.

Top Trimer and Shaver

5

I've been using the Braun Series 3 Shave&Style for about 2 weeks now and have to say I'm really pleased with it. I roughly use it every day to trim my beard and it's only just started flashing to indicate it needs charging. Pros: - Easy to hold and style beard - Duel use - trimmer and shaver - Battery Life - Shaver does not irritate skin Cons: - I would look at buying the version that has a small trimmer blade for sideburns etc. I will say, I did nearly shave half my beard off when using because my previous trimmer didn't require the length attachments. However, despite my error, I'm converted and like the attachments as you know what length you are getting. Overall, I would recommend. Colour looks good. It fits in a travel bag and it beats having a trimmer and a shaver. 5/5
