Epilation, not for the faint hearted
3So, I was so excited to receive my silk epil 5 and bit it going straight away, the plug was included and there were several heads and attachments, plugged it in gritted my teeth and went in for the legs, not too bad I thought, but this was my first time and the hairs were very short, I found it easy to use but had to go over the area several times to get all the small hairs, a few days later I tried again, the remaining hair was a bit longer now and it hurt!! I used the free freeze pouch to numb my legs and gritted my teeth, as I slid the epilator over my skin I could feel it tugging out the hairs, again it took several attempts to get all the hairs, the finish was ok but not 100% so I will keep trying.........

SILK-ÉPIL 5 is an Amazing.
5The SILK-ÉPIL 5 was adjustment to my regular grooming routine. The hair removal was a nice alternative to my regular waxing and chemical hair removal routine. In my own view, the corded epilator made it easy to epilate my hair in one go without having to recharge. Another plus was the fact that I could clean it under regular water, following the instructions in the booklet -this was is to read by the way. Another wonderful feature was the guiding light to make sure all the little hairs gone for my OCD complexities. I didn't have a need to use the attachment for facial hair, but I am yet to try to meeting my eyebrows as the attachment was small enough to do so. Again I see the light coming in handy here just to get rid of those pesky hairs. All in all I see this as a product that can use for the next two years. The only problem I can see for it, is perhaps the cord been a bit longer for easy manuvering.

Braun Silk-Epil 5, Unfortunately Without The Appeal!
3I got my hands on this last week, and the kit looked great. It had the epilator itself, which is unfortunately wasn't corded, as well as the different shaving heads and caps to use with it. I first tried the epilator on my legs, on the first setting, as I have used epilators in the past, but not for a while. The thing I don't like about them is you have to constantly stretch your skin whilst operating it, for it to pull the hairs out properly. It's pretty irritating to have extra work to do as well. I guess you don't have to stretch it, but it does grab the hairs that way, which is painful! The epilator is lightweight, but I don't like the fact it isn't cordless, it's much harder to use as the cord gets in the way. I didn't find the product that appealing at all, and the results on my legs didn't last long at all. It definitely didn't feel at all silky and I was dissapointed. I then tried the epilator with the different head, for my underarm, I have never used an epilator on my underarms before, and I know why now. It was awful, and I had to stop. It was literally pulling the hairs out so harshly and it was not at all comfortable! Overall, the epilator was not as good as I was expecting, but I would use it on my legs if I didn't have a razor available, but it really wasn't as good as I thought it would be unfortunately.

My silk-epil5 experience.
4When I received the product I was over the moon excited about using it decided to use it the next evening, so opened the box and was disappointed to find no normal plug, spent £2 the next day buying the adapter plug at tesco, when I used it i can only compare the pain to when you have your eyebrows threaded but instead of brows it's your body, my skin went red afterwards but by next morning was silky smooth I experienced this everyday it didn't change but I do feel like I have got used to it now, I do feel after 2 weeks of using it my hair growth is less overall pleased and happy with the product.

Painful - but worth it!
4As a first time epilator user I wasn't sure what to expect but followed all the instructions inc using the cooling pad prior to starting! I wasn't prepared for exactly how painful it would be to begin with but after a minute it 2 I actually got used to it and can see that with prolonged use it will hurt less! I wasn't brave enough to use this anywhere other than on my legs so I haven't used it yet in more 'sensitive areas' but I was impressed with how smooth my skin was after use and 3 days later skin is still silky smooth so a definate bonus on shaving. I like the multi heads option for express use and it also came with a shaver head so would be handy for holidays/travelling to use as a all in one if you didn't epilate other areas! Also supplied with a little carry bag to keep everything all together, although I didn't find the cooling pad very useful -I didn't feel it really numbed the skin prior to use but was nice to cool it and stop any itching afterwards. Overall a lovely product and I have recommended it to my mum and best friend. There are some medical advice warning about who can use this product inside the instructions leaflet and I would want to know about these before purchasing this product!

First time but not the last !!
4As a first time user of an epilator I am definitely converted!! I found the Braun epilator so easy to use once I had looked at it. I used it on my legs and I didn't have any discomfort until I did my big toes. I have to say I am used to having my legs waxed and the hairs on my legs are quite sparse so maybe that is why I didn't feel any pain. When I epilated I had varying lengths of hairs some long and some short and the Braun coped with them all very well leaving my legs silky smooth I found it quick to do with very little effort and the added bonus of no smell or sticky wax unlike chemical or waxing techniques. After use it was easy to clean and I had no reaction to the epilation. I would give this product a full 5 stars if it had been rechargeable cordless although that's just me being picky as most of our gadgets are cordless. My friends are impressed with the excellent results and I am checking there handbags before they leave !!

Review on the Braun Silk Epil 5 Epilator
4When the box was unpacked, everything was neatly put in. The first time I tried it on my arm and I found it very effective as I had just recently shaved my arms so the hair length was not long. Another advantage is that it has two options effective or gentle. So if your in a hurry then to turn it to the effective side. The facial cap worked wonders when I epilated my face. I didn't have to go through any section again. and then the cooling pack with the glove was instantly calming to the skin. Only disadvantage I would say that when it is off charge it doesn't work, so only works when plugged in. Overall a great experience and a wonderful item that is handy for women every day. Recommended to all.

Braun Silk-Epil 5 - Grit your teeth and think of the results!
4To be honest I was quite apprehensive about trying an epliator again because of the pain. I bought one a few years ago but only managed a couple of goes before I threw it away. Nevertheless I was determined to give this one a go. For those of you who have not used an epliator before, it is pretty much a shaver type product that has tiny tweezers inside the head to pull the hair out. I read the instructions before starting but was surprised to find that it did not have a normal plug socket on the end; just one of those 2 prong shaver plugs. Luckily I had an adapter in the house. I found it very easy to use, particularly with the light and rotating head, which makes it a lot more comfortable and gets a closer grip. I'm not going to lie, it hurts!! The sort of pain you get when you have a tattoo (apologies to those who have not had one) as it really does sting but you sort of get used to the pain after a while. The cooling glove definitely helps. Redness went down after about an hour or so. After 5 days I had absolutely no re-growth on my legs and just a bit around the bikini line. You find that if you keep on top of it and use it every week or so, the pain gets much easier to manage, particularly as less hair grows back. So, pros.....in my opinion it lasts longer than waxing and obviously far longer than shaving. The rotating head and cooling glove are great and make the experience more comfortable. Cons.....does not come with a standard plug or adapter. Also does not hold a charge so you have to keep it plugged in while using. The ability to use it cordless would be a massive help. In summary, I found this a much better experience than the cheap epilator I tried a few years ago so it has completely changed my view on them. As long as you can get used to the annoying pain, it is definitely worth it. Much cheaper than getting regular waxes as well!

BRAUN SILK EPIL 5-OUCH BUT WORTH IT
4Now this was my first ever experience with an epilator and to be honest i was very apprehensive, i made sure my gel pack for my cooling glove was nice and cold, applied it to my leg and i was ready to go. I was quite taken aback by the sensation and kept up a running commentary of ouch ouch ouch. I experimented with the two settings and preferred the extra efficient to extra gentle it seemed less painful don't know why that was,i also found if i went really slowly that also helped with the discomfort,i got really brave then and decided to try the efficiency cap, i couldn't tell any difference in sensation but it seemed to do a better job at removing the hair. I loved the light made it so easy to see where i had missed and the cooling glove was a godsend My legs were a bit blotchy and stung slightly which abated after applying some aloe so i would recommend doing this in the evening,but otherwise the epilator has done a great job and i am really pleased with the results, it was worth the discomfort. I haven't tried this on other areas yet but fully intend to. so to summarize yes i will be using this again, the only cons in my opinion are the fact it has to be plugged in and i wasn't aware it needed a plug adapter until opening the box the discomfort wasn't a con as i was expecting it.Would definitely recommend as wasn't as bad as i thought it would be (you do get used to the sensation)and the results speak for themselves.

5The epilater is efficient if a little painful. However don't let this put you off as the more you do it, the less it hurts! Great results too hair free for ages after using it (friends have all had a go and loved it too). I would recommend this product it's stylish, easy to use and has quick results that last!
