Superb.
If you've already got the series 7, you probably don't need the series 9. From a performance point of view, the only difference between the two is the series 7 is noisier. For my particular type of bristles, (dense and very tough) the series 7 actually shaves closer than the series 9. So if you're thinking of upgrading, think carefully.philp

Two years of great shaving
I bought my 7840s razor in August 2017 and two years later I am just as impressed by its performance as when it was just out of the box. It works best on my beard at the slower settings and I am hoping I will get to use it for several years more.

Disappointed
I empty, clean, wash and dry the shaver head on a regulars basis but have found it is not advisable to have a shave when you have a nice clean shirt on as the razor is constantly emptying out of the side of the head and down whatever you are wearing. Also I was drawn the fact that this razor will remove “flat” bristles. Now I don’t have a heavy beard by I do suffer from flat bristles in the moustache area and this razor does not cut them as promised and have to get the disposable one out to get rid of them

Best shaver currently available
Own 2 series 7 shavers (720s-3 and 7840s). Have used Braun shavers now for 42 years and the 7 series is the best yet, don't bother looking anywhere else for an electric shaver.
