Popped My Braun Silk-5 Epilator Cherry - Amazing

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Ive been itching to buy an eplilator for ages but due to other people telling me how much it hurt, didn't take the plunge.. However, this campaign was for me... :)The product looked good and the only downside for me was that it was cable operated and in today's day perhaps batteries would have been better. As you don't always want to sit grooming in the bathroom.Once i started it was pretty easy and painless. If you hold the skin whilst epilating a tip to share then it doesn't pinch as much.. The end result was fab a little red, so the ice pack which is part of the accessories was great.. NO real sore issues and my legs were as smooth as a babies bottom :)I definitely wont be going back to the wax, however, haven't yet been brave enough to try epliating the arm pits, but will have a go.So the moto appears to be once you epliate you don't go back .. Its a definite great move and I cant believe after 41 years I haven't tried it before ! Go Girls..

Great product

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

A simple, easy to use epilator with a cool gel for aftercare, would definitely recommend to others! The different settings allow you to choose between efficiency and easy on the pain, rather than having no option - great for first time users. I also like the cooling pack that comes with it, especially as my skin was quite red after using for the first time.

Converted shaver here!

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This was my first time using an epilator but it won't be my last. The Braun Silk-Epil 5 is perfect for a first time user. There are plenty of attachments to help ease the pain - I particularly like the massaging rollers. If it gets uncomfortable there is a special soothing pack which you keep in the freezer. This was included in the box.Hair removal is good and my legs felt smooth afterwards. This improved on the second use (probably as my skin reacted less). I haven't tried it anywhere apart from my legs but the epilator is suitable for many areas. (Each with it's own attachment). The instructions were in depth and helped me out as a first time user. The epilator itself is a nice design and is compact for easy storage. One (very) slight quibble is that the on/off button isn't overly easy to grip. The epilator plugs into a shaving socket which is fine for me but perhaps some people would prefer a battery powered one.Overall a very good product which I will continue to use and would recommend.

Braun silk epil 5.

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have never used an epilator before. It would of been good to know that the on this Braun silk epil 5 is not a uk plug it only has two prongs, so I did have to go out and buy an adaptor, there quite cheap so it wasn't to bad. The first time using I found it quite painful and skin was a little red and blotchy, but then the second time was fine. The light is very useful I found I got more hairs out with its help. I liked that it came with cooling glove with the gel pack which does cool the area that you do. The noise of it is quite loud. I would definitely recommend this product.Remember to get an adapter. Fantastic product with a great finish.

hair removal hurts!

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have only ever shaved, waxed or used hair removal creams before so when I received this epilator I was excited to be trying something new.I read the instructions in advance so I would know what to do when I came to use it and I popped the ice pack in the fridge as being a novice would ensure some pain the first couple of times- the ice pack is supposed to numb the area a little so you don't feel as much pain. The first time I used it I decided to remove my armpit hair first as I felt that would be the least painful. I started to remove the hair as instructed and felt it was not anywhere near as painful as o thought it would be! So I went into removing my leg hair with more confidence than i should have had! Wow it hurt! Even with the ice pack I could feel every hair being plucked out.I decided not to do the other leg as I felt a little scared and would come back to it later. I waited a couple of days before I was brave enough to try again and this time it was not too bad. It hurt of course but I think that as I was expecting it, it felt less painful than before. It took a while for my hair to grow back and it was also thinner than before so I would definitely be recommend this method for those who are going on holiday or have a lot of time to spend on hair removal. If you are getting your legs out all the time this is for you!I do not have much time as I have a baby and my legs do not come out often so I do not think I would use it very much but I would definitely use it if I was going on holiday. It is a very high quality product and worth the money if you do not like shaving and waxing. But you do need a high pain threshold!

Nowhere near as painful as I thought

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was scared by epilators, from hearing what other people have said about it.It turns out I needn't have been, as someone who has waxed in the past, this epilators was far less painful than waxing! The sound when you turn it on for the first time can be off putting as it's quite loud, but try to see past that. It comes with a cool pack which, upon rubbing over the legs makes it almost pain free. I am a self confessed wimp and it was fine, if anything the massaging beads acted as a distraction to the minimal pain. The actual epilators worked well and gave very smooth results, but you do need to leave the hair to grow a tiny but before it works completely effectively. The variety of interchangeable heads are also great for getting every area, such as ankles where it can be difficult to use the main head. All in all I think this is a great option, hasn't left me with any ingrown hairs like shaving sometimes does.

Good Epilator for beginners

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This kit is aimed at epilation newbies and did not disappoint. In order to truly put this epilator through its paces I let my leg hairs grow enough that I did not totally resemble a sasquatch, but enough that I could judge how well it dealt with hairs of different lengths.I am a regular epilator and have had several models over the years all of which have served me well. The head is quite narrow compared to my normal epilator which meant I had to go up and down a lot my leg more than normal to get rid of the hairs, but for facial use its narrow head is an advantage. On the plus side the Braun Silk Epil 5780 was quick, efficient and surprisingly painless. The special massaging rollers on one of the heads do seem to reduce the pain significantly and for those who arre really worried about it hurting the Braun Silk Epil comes with a special ice pack you pop in the freezer and then use in a cooling glove supplied as part of the kit to help ease the pain. There are a variety of caps in the kit that cover the epilator head and are there to help out with delicate areas. there is also a shaver head included so it really is a total body kit. Its quick and pretty efficient at what it does. The integral light is a useful addition and makes it easy to see the lurking hairs.. Changing heads and cleaning the epilator are a doddle. On the minus side it is corded, which is a bit of a pain when going round the back of your legs but then I am used to cordless. I also found the on off switch not particularly easy to use, Its a bit fiddly. However, that said,my overall opinion is that the Braun Silk Epil 5780 is a good basic kit and something very well suited to an epilation newbie.

Absolutely amazing. I never thought i would find anything to remove hair apart from a razor and cremes. Initially i got it out and was all prepared to use it then discovered i needed an adaptor, no mention of this, so it went back in the box until i went and bought one. So then i was back in action. All prepared to use it. First time was a bit trial and error, how to hold it, which direction to go in and how fast. However the instructions were great and really told me everything i needed to know. After one go i have had the faith to use it everywhere even my face. So overall simpl and easy to use just let us knowwe need an adaptor.

It's a marmite thing!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was a bit apprehensive as hear different views on pain level! But I love it! It was uncomfortable but worth it to see the results, I've tried the standard tip and the normal razor and both worked brilliantly. Easy to assemble n keep clean! Wished I'd tried years ago!

a smooth operator

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I had always wanted to try an epilator but was too scared of the pain. When I got this campaign I was thrilled. Not going to lie its painful but if you grit your teeth its fine. Having the ice pack which comes with the silk-epil5 I feel really helps numb the area first the massage heads also help with pain relief. The head is interchangeable so you can use it on different body parts i.e bikini and eyebrows. It's great for getting really close and getting super smooth results. The smooth feeling lasts for ages too. I did my legs over a week ago and they are still perfectly smooth. There is also a attachable shaving head which also gets a close shave. The only thing I could pin point as a possible recommendation is that it could be wireless or rechargeable although it is not a major thing I do think it would improve the user experience. I didn't know that it was plug in before I got it so that would be something that could be put on the box.
