Braun Series 5 52-A1000s Electric Shaver

[This review was submitted after receiving an incentive (coupon, discount, free sample, sweepstakes, contest with raffle etc).] The shaver seems to be worth the money, it gives a close shave on a wet shave, I have not used it for a dry shave so unable to comment on that at this time, The shave is straight forward. Battery lasts long enough to be able to finish a complete face, packaging was also more than enough to keep it safe and secured. I have used a lot of electric shavers from cheap to expensive and this is up there. I would rate it about 7-8/10.

For context, I have a fairly short trimmed beard, so I ended up buying the additional trimmer attachment so I could properly review it. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience - I found the length of the trimming with the attachment to be quite variable, sometimes shaving it far too short. Without the trimmer attachment, it was really difficult to be precise with where I shaved, or create any strong lines in the beard. I think this product would work well if you’re only interested in being clean shaven. However, it simply wasn’t a good fit for my needs, and ultimately I will not be using it further.

[This review was submitted after receiving an incentive (coupon, discount, free sample, sweepstakes, contest with raffle etc).] First impressions of the razor were the thoughtful packaging, it is one of the first things I have bought recently where every aspect was either card or paper so could all be recycled. I am upgrading from an S3 model and while the cutting foils are more or less identical the shave is slightly better on the S5, with the most noticeable difference being the turbo button which makes shaving that bit more comfortable if I have not shaved for a few days. I have dropped a star as I don’t think the shave is quite as close as the S3, but is pretty good nonetheless. The ergonomics of the S5 are much better too, being slimmer and more shaped. I like the battery gauge lights to show you how much charge is left. I have had the razor a few weeks now and am still on the initial charge, although I don’t shave every day. All in all this is another top quality product from Braun which I would definitely recommend.

If growth is only a day or two it makes light work of the stubble giving a close shave. In some of the contours of the jaw you can have to repeat over the same spot however this should be done anyway. On longer stubble it isn’t so good. I left the stubble for about 5 days and the shaver did struggle, missing bits and having to go over it again and again. The turbo shave is a good feature, making light work of lesser stubble, but again struggling on longer stubble. The battery life is good, I haven’t had to recharge it since its initial charge, a month ago.

The packaging is small so not ouch waste, it’s durable and versatile, I can’t recommend enough. I did use face cream after but that’s always the case with my skin no matter what I use. I would recommend this and also I found if you use a hot flannel on your growth this blade glides through it easier.

Gives a really comfortable close enough shave with no irritation, seems like it is going to last a long time as doesn’t feel cheap and Flimsy, the guard fits on nicely to keep blades in good condition and doesn’t take long to charge, My only negative point is it didn’t come with a charger and not many people have the 2 pin plug sockets.
