Usually I have 2 different shavers to complete different tasks but with this shaver I am able to complete all tasks with ease. It feels great in the hand with a good weight to it - the charging and cleaning system also make this a really professional bit of kit. Very impressed!

I was a bit sceptical in changing to this Braun Series 9 Pro. However once I started to use it every week I realised how great it is. Is has a nice close shave and doesn't let any odd hairs where you've shaved. It has great performance and doesn't struggle with twisted/frizzy beard hair. It is comfortable to use and you dont need any experience to use the shaver to it's full potential. Cleaning it is very simple and the battery life lasts a long time which is a bonus

Takes some time to get the technique if you have never used an electric shaver however once you do it is quick and efficient with great results. Works well dry or wet - would highly recommend.

It’s of good quality and has a great number of attachments. It is easy to use and feels very comfortable on skin. However, it is rather expensive. Overall, a good quality item

I recently changed to The Harry Razor which knocked the Mach 3 out the park. Wanted to give the Braun a go to see if it could replace the old fashioned razor blade. In short, no. It’s a fab product, but it takes at least 5 min to get a shave comparable to the razor (which only takes me 2 min). I also feel the Braun works best when the hair is already short / trimmed. It’s also very loud! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great product but not enough to convert me from my old school razor method.

I always find when charging my shaver there is never a good place for it but this is a perfect solution. There is a beard trimmer as well as a smooth shave.

I get a super smooth glide with no pulling at all. I’ve used it on both long hair and short hair and i get the same great result. What i really love is the charging case, it’s so handy

This machine is a beast mode on shaving beards. I was looking for something similar and worth every spent penny. Shaver has a travel case and another one for home use. It is quickly charged with the main charging station or in case. No need to worry about cleaning it, because cleaning liquid is already in a kit. It has another shaver for beard modelling. It is easy to use it, so from me 11 from 10.

I have to shave nearly every day otherwise my beard grows fast and the whole shaving experience can hurt as the shaver attempts to cut the long hairs off my face and they get stuck and pull. To give you an idea of what I mean, picture shaving a Velcro strip. This exactly the situation I can find myself in, especially when I’m on annual leave from work, and forget whilst I’m not going anywhere. On opening the box, the first thing I did after looking at the shaver itself, was to look at its documentation, which is vague at best. Instead of actually telling you how to look after the shaver, you are reliant on a series of pictures. (photo attached). Did these pictures mean I was to rinse the shaver under the tap after every use, and then shake off the excess water before putting the unit into the smart centre? Do I have to empty out any excess hair first or does the smart centre take care of this? It would appear that what the pictures are referring to, is that if you decided to use this unit as a wet shaver in the shower (which you can as its 100% waterproof) you have to rinse out any shaving gel/foam before the cleaning process can be started. Over the years, I have tried many different shavers and have yet to experience one that has given me the close, comfortable shave I seek. However, that being said, the Series 9 Pro comes pretty close, and I would get this is down to the AutoSense tech, which automatically adjusts the speed of the motor dependant on beard density! Pretty impressive stuff, but it still struggles a little with the shortest of hairs, and these require extra attention, or use of the beard trimmer to get them. The shaver head on this bad boy sports 2 x OptiFoil cutters for closeness, a ProLift trimmer to get at shorted hairs, a Direct&Cut trimmer to get the awkward hairs and a skin guard to try to protect the skin from shaver rash. I love the fact that this comes with a 5 in 1 Smart Care Centre. This handy little gadget takes a look at the shaver every time it’s used and assesses which level of clean and lubrication it needs. Either stage 1, 2 or 3. Each stage takes longer than the last and uses up more of the fluid in the cartridge. Once it’s done its thing, a fan comes on and dries the shaver head so it’s ready for its next use. One thing I have noticed with this is it seems that it’s going to get through cartridges pretty quickly. One the first use which was only fairly brief because I wanted to try it out and see how it felt compared to my previous shavers, it wanted a full-scale level 3 clean. Guessing this was because its new, but I couldn’t find any info in the manual. The second time I used it, again it was only a few minutes, and it wanted a level 2 clean, so it would appear to get the quickest eco clean which is level 1, you have to shaver for virtually no time at all! I also noticed that when the smart care centre has done its thing, there are faint water marks on the shaver’s body which have splashed up. The SmartCare centre just plugs in using the supplied cable into your usual shaver socket, but the cable is very short which is frustrating, and as a result I have had to move the location my shaver is in because of the shorter cable. The cleaning cartridge should last up to 1 month. The front of the shaver features an LCD display, which gives you info on the shaver’s status. It tells you the battery charge, level and when the shaver needs a visit to the smart care centre (after every shave basically). You can even turn on the travel lock so that the shaver isn’t inadvertently activated whilst you are travelling, and it will even tell you how long the shaving head has before it needs changing. Also on the shaver’s body is a precision switch which allows you to fix the otherwise automatically adjusting shaver head in place. I don’t find this feature at all useful, despite having tried it several times, I need the shaver head to be continually adjusting to the contours of my face to get me the best shaver possible. Included with the shaver is a handy dandy pretty solid travel case, which, not only keeps your new shaver safe on its travels, but in a stroke of genius, it also doubles as a charging chase so you can put the shaver in, press a button and it will charge the shaver, essentially increasing the battery life by an additional 50%. You already get 60 minutes of shaving from a full charge anyway, so that’s 90 minutes shaving time! According to Braun, this is a world’s first. You can charge the case up using the same cable that is used to power the SmartCare centre. In conclusion here is a summary of pros and cons for me. Pros: SmartCare Centre is great. One touch does it all Beard Trimmer Fantastic battery life, and double whammy with the battery charging travel case. Gentle on skin Cons: Cable is short Instructions are vague Drinks the cleaning fluid and more cartridges will be needed. Can miss the more awkward hairs Overall, I am really impressed with this shaver. It gives me the best shave I have had of any shaver to date. Clearly, Braun has put some thought into this, and being a use of the previous Series 9, is it better? Absolutely. It doesn’t pull on longer beards like previous shavers have and I don’t get razor burn like I used to. Really happy with this product, and I think you’ll be too. I give it 98% out of a possible 100.
