It does have 3 shave modes and microcomb/precision trimmer for longer hair. It does what is says on the packaging- Adapts to every contour. The great thing is that it is waterproof. It feels really good in hand as well. The only minus- which is why only 4 stars - is the price of the replacement shaver head. Other than that it's great.

Gotta say, it does a decent job of getting a close enough shave, and that head that moves around seems to follow the shape of my face pretty well. It's got these different settings too – a fast one, a gentle one, and just a regular one, which is handy depending on how rushed I am or if my skin's feeling a bit sensitive. One thing I noticed is that it figures out how thick my beard is and changes the power, which is pretty clever. Being able to use it in the shower is a bonus, makes cleaning it under the tap dead easy too. The battery life is pretty good; it lasts ages, and if I forget to charge it, there's a quick charge thing which is a lifesaver. The little trimmer attachment is useful for tidying up my beard line and sideburns. Plus, there's a light that tells you about the blades and battery, which is handy. It's comfy enough to use, doesn't really irritate my skin. It gets the job done with the shave, though I reckon the head could maybe move a bit more side-to-side, you know? The look of it is alright, nothing too fancy. Shame it doesn't come with one of those cleaning stations like some of the other Braun ones. Overall, it's a solid shaver. If you just want something that gives a decent shave and is easy to use wet or dry, with a battery that lasts, this could be a good shout. In order to give this razor a fair trial I opted to leave my facial hair to grow for a few days and decided to try a dry shave first. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of hair that the razor removed with relative ease. Not only did it remove the hair, it also left me with a very smooth face which I've never experienced with an electric razor before. The trimming attachment was very easy to fit, the standard blade is easily removable and the new head clips straight into the head of the razor, meaning it's very simple to use. The blade on fine trimming attachment is a little bigger that I was expecting, but was perfect for defining sideburns. Finally the SmartCare base is one of the most unique and incredible features of this razor. The base holds an alcohol solution which is used to clean the main razor while charging. Not only does this clean the standard razor head, it also gives the razor lubrication ensuring it'll be perfect to use for a significant period of time.
